piecing she now does for hand sewing. Yes you can
Strip-Piece by hand. You just need to know where
to start and stop. Many of her
"Quick Tricks" methods have been converted to hand
piecing. Billie has even designed
her own special ruler for marking your fabrics.
You will begin making samples of the
different techniques, and then you will turn these
samples into a doll size quilt.

be playing with colored pencils
that are designed for value scales. See the amazing
blocks that you will be
creating just by coloring in the block's different parts.

really like and learn how to calculate the yardage you will
need to make a quilt.

Tea Time-Table Runner
Learn how to construct a special
tea cup using foundation paper methods.
Start with your tea cup collection, and turn it into a table runner.

Great for Beginners!
Learn how to start
cutting your strips so that they are straight and accurate.
What is required to sew a perfect 1/4" seam. Pressing to avoid
"bowing" and
"fluted" strips. Pressing in a four patch spiral to take the bulk
out of your seams.
How to construct a Two Patch, Four Patch and Nine Patch Blocks.
How to turn them all into a quilt.
The purchase of "Lets Make Squares & Rectangles" is required. All

String Quilts

Do you find yourself saving strips that
are leftover from your quilts??? Do these piles of
fabrics seem to keep growing??? Are you looking for
something to make from these fabrics???
How about making a String Quilt? A brief
history of String Quilts will be given. You will see
how easily this type of quilt can be made. Next you
will be shown the basic steps of a String Quilt's
construction and the variety of layouts that can be made.
You will learn what types of foundation to use. Bill
will have suggestions for how to organize your fabric
"strings", and how to quilt and finish this type of quilt.
This is a fun and relaxed class.

Quilting In The
Big Stitch Style
Do
you have quilts that you want to hand quilt??? Are you
having trouble with your hands and/or eyes and small
quilting stitches??? Jo Walters created this technique
and its perfect for those of us who answered "Yes!" to any
of the above questions.
You will learn not only how to quilt using
the "Big Stitch" but also how to make your own
quilting templates. Many of the quilting patterns can be
done in a continuous line that can also be used for machine
quilting.
The purchase of the book "Quilting in The
Big Stitch Style" is required. All levels.
Beyond The Rail
Fence
Such
a simple and basic quilt block unit but what you can do with
it is incredible!!!!
Seeing is believing. This workshop is a design class and
let's you create your own
quilt pattern. No pressure - only play!
Start by
discovering what a basic rail fence
quilt looks like and how it is constructed. Once that
is accomplished, students will
be shown how to create their own designs using Billie's
special "Rail Fence Graph Paper" and color pencils.
Next you will learn how to calculate yardage and cutting
requirements.
The purchase of "Beyond the Rail Fence" plus "Rail
Fence Graph Paper" is required. All levels.
